Victor Kugler - September 10, 1943

Today was a bad day. I was worried about Mr.Koophuis. He had to go to the hospital for abdominal operation and he have to stay there for four weeks. I hope he makes it through the the operation because everyone loves him so much. He is a great man, he's cheerful and brave. There is also, some great news. Last wednesday evening september 8th. I was listening to the seven o'clock news with the Franks and the Van Danns. I had heard that during the whole war, Italy has capitulated. Everyone including me was happy that Italy surrendered.
