victor Kugler - November 17, 1943

Today I heard that there was Diphtheria in Elli's home. She cannot come into contact with us for 6 weeks. 6 whole weeks!  That's a long time.   Everyone misses her especially since she was one of the helper who helped bring food to the Franks and Van Dann family. Mr. Van Daanis very particular about his food.  Also, Mr.Koophuis is still in bed at the hospital. He had only been eating porridge and drinking milk for the last 3 weeks. Mr.Dussel hadn't talked to either Mrs. Van Dann or Mr. Van Dann. He had told us that Mr. Van Dann had started the silence and he isn't going to be the one who ends it. Yesterday was the 16th the day where Mr. Dussel has been with the Franks for one year he was rewarded a plant.
